Paolo Esposito is noted in Sorrento for his cult of gastronomy and for his passion for the great tenor Enrico Caruso.
He has owned this restaurant since 1987, and he named it “CARUSO” with the purpose of joining the name of the tenor with the good Neapolitan and international cuisine.
In 1998 Paolo Esposito met the famous searcher and biographer of Caruso, Guido D’Onofrio from Foggia, good friend pf the son of the mythical tenor, Enrico Jr., and collaborator in the realization of the paternal biography “My father and my family” published in USA in 1990.
Soon Esposito and D’Onofrio established a very good friendship. This union made possible create a museum dedicated to Caruso inside the restaurant, that, thanks to all disinteresting donations of Guido D’Onofrio of the numerous objects exposed in the establishment, is denominated
“Ristorante Museo Caruso”. Furthermore it has become the meeting point of all the fans of the greatest vocal phenomenon of the operatic scene.
